Why do I want to reach out to others?
My name is Natasha Ryder, I live in Newcastle Upon Tyne, U.K. I am a Northumbria University graduate am currently training as a mental health practitioner for young people. I originally planned to remain anonymous throughout this process but to really connect with individuals, I feel the need to be open and honest. I decided to go through with termination myself a number of years ago at the age of 16 and as a result struggled with the aftermath as well as the making of the decision. I felt as though there was no help locally, at least not what I needed. And if it was what I needed, it came at price.
Before this experience I had no idea what extra baggage came with abortion. It’s tiring living with the “what if’s” and weighing yourself down with guilt, day in day out. I have tried almost every resource available to me to aid my healing process and want to share with those who are also facing difficulty what has kept me going. Whether it just be a five minute chat online or a journey together through my step by step recovery process. I'm here to listen.
Helping others regarding this issue means a great deal to me as it is something I feel I am so understanding of. I am so passionate to raise more awareness for men and women out there who have too dealt with abortion.
Your support is much appreciated.
Many thanks, Natasha.
